The Frappuccino is actually a registered trademark of Starbucks and it is now sold worldwide. A Frappuccino is a blended ice beverage sold in the form of a bottled coffee beverage.
Frappuccino Coffee History
Frappucino is said to have roots in Italy, from the frappe and cappucino, the later being a coffee styled with frothed milk on the top. However, the American coffee shop chain The Coffee Connection in East Massachusetts actually developed, copyrighted and named the Frappucino. That said, there were and still is other companies selling similar drinks on different names.
In 1994, The Coffee Connection was sold to Starbucks, which lead to the Frapuccino being heavily advertised and resulted in the Frappucino being sold worldwide within years. Decaf Frappucino coffee was discontinued in 2008 and made available again in 2010.
