Jurang is a UK coffee company, serving more than 1000 customers across mainly the UK, but also in Ireland and occasionally throughout Europe and the US. Independent sales agents and technical engineers give you expert advice and quality support and service. In addition to these 'field people', our team of operational staff is based in Mossley, Manchester to deal with management, planning, accounts and website design and maintenance.
We think the internet is a great place but realise it can be a pretty faceless place too. That's why we wanted to give you the opportunity to see who it is you are dealing with when you place an online or phone order.
Name: Corniel
Responsible for: Operational Management
Corniel effectively created Jurang years ago when he started selling Fairtrade products as a student at local churches and other community places. Having worked with Paul (below) before, they together founded Jurang Wholesale Limited
As one of the directors, Corniel is responsible for the day to day running of the company and customer and supplier relationships, including the management of the Jura, Bravilor, Expobar and Franke distributor and dealer responsibilities.
Corniel is married with 1 daughter and in his spare time he enjoys cooking, cycling, good music and reading...most of them complimented with a good glass of wine or his friend's home made ginger beer.
Name: Peter
Responsible for: Order & Despatch, Online Marketing
Peter works in our warehouse department and will make sure your order gets to you fast and in one piece. Peter is also responsible for the online marketing and networking with other Fairtrade retailers and wholesalers. He writes articles online and contributes to various blogs.
Peter is passionate about Fairtrade and 'fresh pots', which is our company's expression for a good cup of fresh coffee after being inspired by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters in a hilarious Youtube video.
Pete's hobbies include the internet, music and motorsport. With regards to the latter he has been a proud attendant of Silverstone a few times, which he says 'is amazing'.
Name: Paul
Responsible for: Strategy & Financial Planning
Paul started Jurang Wholesale with Corniel after sharing a passion for Fairtrade and giving the poor a voice through trade. Paul is and has been involved in a number of succesful businesses before as well as providing various charities with technical support through his IT company Venturonet.
Paul's expertise on strategy and the internet has allowed Jurang to develop a highly reliable internet brand and attract a large number of high profile clients including top UK universities, Buckingham Palace, KPMG and the Equality & Human Rights Commission.
Paul is married and likes to take to the outdoors in his spare time. Furthermore he's a motorsport enthusiast who can set down a pretty mean lap time himself if necessary.
Name: Jonathan
Responsible for: Accounts
Jonathan loves excel spreadsheets, VAT returns and other things to do with numbers. Strangely Jonathan does not like coffee, which is why we're not quite sure why he choose to work for a coffee retailer. In fact this picture of him next to our Jura coffee machine was to taunt him and encourage him to enter the world of real men (and women).
If you ever speak to Jonathan you can rest assured of a professional response to your accounts related question.
Jonathan's hobbies include building his own guitars and eating home made cakes. Jonathan is very selfish though in that respect as he will tell us all about the cakes and how nice they are, but he will never actually bring any in to share!
Name: Sam
Responsible for: Programming & Design
Sam is our programming and design guru. He is responsible for all the things that you can see on the website but also for all the things that you can't see but that enable you to see what you can see. Sam also loves having lots of monitors.
You will probably never speak to Sam but through the code he is always speaking to you...
In his spare time Sam likes finding more monitors. He is also a keen F1 supporter and like Peter he has been to Silverstone to witness 'great things'. Finally he likes tinkering with computers and designing things for his World Domination Program (WDP).
