We are a Bristol based coffee company and in 2016 we are celebrating our 6th year in business! We have just over 4000 customers across mainly the UK and Ireland. We do occasionally supply to customers in Europe and the US.
We work with independent technical engineers across the UK but our team of operational staff deals with management, planning, accounts, website design and maintenance. In addition to our permanent staff, we also from time-to-time employ free-lance staff and apprentices.
We realise the internet and the world of online shopping can be pretty faceless. That's why we wanted to introduce some of our key staff to you and put faces to voices and e-mails.
Head of Sales
My name is Corniel and I founded Jurang in 2009. I am originally from Holland and so continental coffee culture was in my blood from a young age. I never forget being offered a cup of instant coffee in a coffee shop when I first moved to the UK - I was so shocked! So, passionate about good coffee, fair trade and doing business the right way, I have over the last 5 years been growing Jurang into one of the UK's leading suppliers of quality equipment and ethical products.
I remain active at every level of the business to ensure our customers are given the best possible service, however, my main responsibilities are sales and equipment advice. I also manage some of our key accounts.
I am married and have 2 beautiful young daughters. I enjoy cycling and a good glass of wine in my spare time as well as cooking and eating (too much).
Customer Service & Finance
Hi, I am Kim, I run customer service and finance. My background is in Hospitality Management at a large UK hotel group where customer service was paramount. In turn, I work to ensure this is the same at Jurang because I know it is crucial to deliver for our customers.
I spend much of my spare time with my husband and enjoy running also. Other than that I do love food and spend the rest of my spare time cooking for friends and family.
I work part-time at the moment as I am also training to become a vicar in the Church of England.
Marketing, Business Analysis and Planning
Paul works part-time for Jurang. His background in running successful online businesses, his belief in Fairtrade and his love for (very) strong espresso meant that he is the perfect man to oversee Jurang's ongoing development of an attractive and reliable internet brand.
This has resulted in Jurang supplying large clients including some top UK universities, the Equality & Human Rights Commission and KPMG as well as independent, small businesses across the UK, from cafes to restaurants and from offices to conference centres.
Paul is married and likes to take to the outdoors in his spare time. He is a keen runner with a marathon and various 10k charity runs under his belt. Paul is also a motorsport enthusiast who can set down a pretty mean lap time himself if necessary.
Programming & Design
Sam is our programming and design guru. He is responsible for all the things that you can see on the website but also for all the things that you can't see but that enable you to see what you can see. Sam also loves having lots of monitors.
You will probably never speak to Sam but through the code he is always speaking to you...
In his spare time, Sam likes finding more monitors. He is also a keen F1 supporter and he has been to Silverstone to witness 'great things' a number of things. Finally, he likes tinkering with computers and designing things for his World Domination Program (WDP).
