In 2004, 33 farmers in Malawi were introduced to Traidcraft at a conference organised and run by Traidcrafts market access centre. As a result of this initiative The Kasinthula Cane Growers' Association was formed and now real lives are transformed as farmers receive a fair price for their premium service. The delicious stem ginger is sourced from a community which has benefitted from the establishment of a local factory which enables fruit to be processed and value to be added to their local produce. As a result lives and communities have the opportunity to develop.
