Fairtrade Fortnight 2013 Dates

Fairtrade Fortnight 2013 is from Monday 25th February to Sunday 10th March. As always these two weeks of celebrations and raising awareness will put the spotlight firmly on Fairtrade and highlight the importance of Fairtrade and Trade Justice.

Over the last decade Fairtrade has consistently grown and an increasing variety of products are now available with the widely recognised green and blue mark. What is interesting is that despite an economic recession, when many people tighten their financial belts, the public have chosen to support a new and better approach to trade; putting producers in the Developing World first - even though there may be a premium cost involved in purchasing a Fairtrade product.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2013, during the dates above, will increase awareness, celebrate successes and evaluate future approaches. It is a great time for campaigners to be granted extra attention and for more people to get fired up by a vision for a fairer trade system.

Get involved with Fairtrade Fortnight 2013

The easiest way to get involved with Fairtrade Fortnight 2013 is very simple: buy Fairtrade products! We are a Fairtrade only coffee company and raise awareness of Fairtrade in our local area and through our website with the products we sell. However, we still find that often people love the thought, the philosophy and the feel-good factor but fail to put their money where their mouth (or brain) is. Fairtrade ultimately is about trade and partaking in that trade; not just about "lovely thoughts" of "happy, smiling people" (although that is of course important).

Therefore this Fairtrade Fortnight (as well as before and after!) buy Fairtrade products. For example, we offer a fantastic range of Fairtrade Coffee, Fairtrade Tea and other Fairtrade products in our online shop. Additionally check your supermarket or even better: your local independent retailer(s). If they don't stock Fairtrade products yet, ask them to do so and explain why.
