Perfectly balanced and slow-roasted for longer to enable the creation of barista-quality ground coffee.
Hand-selected with the help of international coffee experts, we have developed this roast to ensure our coffee is also not bitter or oily.
Single Origin Peru coffee is renowned due to the elevation of farms being between 1,200 to 1,800 meters above sea level. Our Peru coffee is speciality grade, 100% arabica and embodies the spirit of positivity that flourishes amidst the Peruvian peaks.
Handpicked by local farmers, each bean reflects both the character of the region and the care taken throughout cultivation. This attention to detail ensures quality and a true expression of origin.
In the cup, the coffee offers a bright yet balanced profile, with lively acidity, a medium body, and natural sweetness working in harmony to create a rewarding and approachable experience.
Grown in the foothills of the Andes, the Arabica plants benefit from high altitudes, cooler temperatures, and natural shade, allowing the cherries to ripen slowly and develop depth. The result is a well-defined flavour profile featuring citrus notes, subtle floral tones, and a gentle nuttiness that adds structure and balance.
Our commitment extends beyond flavour alone. We work closely with local farmers through fair trade and sustainable practices that help protect the landscape while supporting the communities behind the coffee.
This single-origin Peru coffee offers more than an everyday brew. Each cup provides a moment to slow down and enjoy a coffee shaped by its environment, delivering clarity, balance, and consistency from the first sip to the last.
Moving to Direct Trade has enabled Jurang to pay farmers a premium that goes beyond Fairtrade base rates.
Direct Trade enables suppliers to cut out the middlemen by working directly with farmers. This means we can give more money back to the farmers whilst still offering great prices for our customers. The charge to become Fairtrade certified for many producers is so high that this often results in unnecessarily increased costs for the coffee to roasters and ultimately consumers, as someone within the chain must swallow the fee. Direct Trade erases this fee, resulting in better prices for consumers, yet still offering the same premiums, if not more of the cut, straight back to the farmers.
For this reason, producers are increasingly moving beyond Fairtrade to establish Direct Trade relationships with origin farms. It is therefore now widely accepted that Direct Trade results in better quality coffee due to the improved farmer interaction. The amount Fairtrade premiums pay to farmers often does not change depending on the quality of the crop. We believe farmers should be rewarded for their hard work.
We've concluded that Direct Trade is better for farmers, producers, and customers and are proud to state all of our Happy Coffee Beans are sourced ethically via Direct Trade relationships with origin farms worldwide.
We believe in a vision where the bottom line is people, not profit.
