Our Jurang Uganda bean is a distinctive washed coffee hailing from the Rwenzori region in western Uganda, cultivated by dedicated smallholder farmers who balance coffee production with other essential crops.
For these farmers, coffee farming plays a crucial role, providing income to support their families, particularly helping to cover school fees for their children.
The coffee cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness and then processed meticulously by farmers using hand-operated pulpers. The resulting 'parchment' is dried naturally under the sun, turned regularly to ensure consistent drying.
Once fully dried, the coffee parchment is transported to the Agri Evolve coffee factory for a careful quality assessment.
Our Single Origin Uganda coffee shines as a versatile blend component, infusing espresso or filter blends with a lively fruitiness and a hint of light citrus acidity.
Each cup reflects the character of the Ugandan Rwenzori Mountains and the work of dedicated farmers like Andrew.
Andrew is one of many experienced producers we work with. After pulping his coffee, he carefully sun-dries the parchment before delivering it to the factory in Nyabirongo, where it is prepared for export.
At the factory, the coffee is hulled, cleaned, and graded, then packed into 60 kg sacks lined with GrainPro to preserve quality and freshness on its journey to the UK. Once the coffee arrives at the roastery, our head roaster, Mark, begins the roasting process, applying the skill and precision for which he is known.

We carefully schedule roasting sessions every 4-6 weeks at the roastery to ensure a consistently fresh stock of coffee beans.
By regularly roasting in small batches, we maintain peak freshness, locking in the rich flavours and aromas that only come from freshly roasted coffee.
This approach allows us to offer our ground coffee that never sit on the shelf for long, ensuring every cup's vibrant, flavorful experience.
