Great coffee should be great for everyone.

Sourced ethically via our Direct Trade relationships with origin farms, we are confident this coffee will transform your daily ritual into a celebration of happiness, one sip at a time.

That's why we've made it our mission to craft exceptional coffee that values everyone it touches, from the skilled farmers who cultivate our beans to the dedicated roasters who bring out their unique flavours, and finally to the coffee enthusiasts who savour each sip.

What's more, we are committed to building a better world, with a portion of our proceeds going straight back to meet the needs of the local communities where we source our coffee.

Experience the Taste

Our Ethiopian single-origin coffee is full-bodied with cocoa and plum overtones.

Carefully balanced and slow-roasted to produce barista-quality espresso, this coffee provides a reliable base for speciality drinks such as cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites. Hand-selected with the support of international coffee experts, the roast profile has been developed to prevent oiliness, making it well suited to both traditional espresso machines and bean-to-cup systems.

This Ethiopian natural processed coffee showcases the influence of its growing environment, where coffee cherries mature under warm conditions that contribute to a vibrant and expressive cup. The result is a well-defined flavour profile, combining ripe berry sweetness, subtle floral notes, and a bright, wine-like acidity that brings structure and complexity to each sip.

Crafted for Freshness

Our Ethiopian natural processed coffee reflects the depth of Ethiopia’s coffee heritage and the care taken at every stage of production. It recognises the work of dedicated farmers whose expertise and attention to detail shape the quality of the final cup.

Experience the character of Ethiopian coffee culture through this natural processed offering, delivering a balanced, distinctive cup designed to be enjoyed across a range of brewing methods.

Natural Process

If you are familiar with the coffee world, you will likely have come across terms such as washed, honey, and natural processing.

Our single origin Ethiopian beans are 100% naturally processed, one of the oldest and most traditional methods of coffee processing. This approach plays a key role in shaping the character of the final cup.

After harvesting, the coffee cherries are spread across raised drying beds and left to dry in the sun. They are turned regularly to allow air to circulate evenly, ensuring a consistent and controlled drying process.

Once drying is complete, the cherries are removed to reveal the green beans, which are then rested before being shipped directly to our roasters.

Ethiopia is particularly well known for natural processing, not only due to its long-standing tradition but also because this method develops a depth of flavour that is distinct from other processes.

Our single origin Ethiopian coffee delivers a full-bodied cup with cocoa notes and plum undertones. Depending on the season, lighter fruity notes may also be present.

Each bag contains 250g of Our Speciality Grade Single Origin Ethiopia Coffee Beans

Going beyond Fairtrade

Moving to Direct Trade has enabled Jurang to pay farmers a premium that goes beyond Fairtrade base rates.

Direct Trade enables suppliers to cut out the middlemen by working directly with farmers. This means we can give more money back to the farmers whilst still offering great prices for our customers. The charge to become Fairtrade certified for many producers is so high that this often results in unnecessarily increased costs for the coffee to roasters and ultimately consumers, as someone within the chain must swallow the fee. Direct Trade erases this fee, resulting in better prices for consumers, yet still offering the same premiums, if not more of the cut, straight back to the farmers.

For this reason, producers are increasingly moving beyond Fairtrade to establish Direct Trade relationships with origin farms. It is therefore now widely accepted that Direct Trade results in better quality coffee due to the improved farmer interaction. The amount Fairtrade premiums pay to farmers often does not change depending on the quality of the crop. We believe farmers should be rewarded for their hard work.

We've concluded that Direct Trade is better for farmers, producers, and customers and are proud to state all of our Happy Coffee Beans are sourced ethically via Direct Trade relationships with origin farms worldwide.

We believe in a vision where the bottom line is people, not profit.
