Coffee Brewing Perfection

The Hario V60 Ceramic dripper 02 is a very effective coffee brewing device that creates fresh tasting premium coffee, a method that has been carefully perfected by the folks at Hario in Japan, to ensure that the clearest coffee flavours are developed and extracted.

We recommend every aspect of brewing premium coffee is thought out, which is why we recommend the Hario V60 works best with a gooseneck kettle; a kettle that allows an easy manual pour into the V60.

The Hario V60 coffee brewing practice does take some mastering, yet once achieved delivers arguably the finest way to enjoy superior coffee at home. Please follow our tried and tested method to reach coffee perfection. Please note, everyone enjoys a good cup of coffee differently, so you may desire to tweak our recommended practice, to receive your own required results.

We recommend reading through the following method before attempting (this is for 2 coffee servings):

Items:

  • 60g of coffee beans
  • 800ml of water
  • Hario V60 Brewer
  • Gooseneck Kettle
  • Weighing Scale
  • Grinder
  • Coffee Carafe
  • Spoon to stir (not included in Jurang Package)
  • Mugs to serve (not included in Jurang Package)

Jurang 10 Step Method

  1. Measure 60 grams of coffee (decrease or increase amount depending upon your coffee strength preference)
  2. Grind coffee beans to a ‘fine’ consistency (between an espresso grind and cafetière grind)
  3. Place the Hario V60 on to the carafe and place a filter paper into the Hario V60
  4. Rinse the filter paper with hot water, allowing the water to drip into the carafe (this will reduce paper taste and warm the carafe)
  5. Pour any water from the carafe away
  6. Add the ground coffee to the filter paper in the Hario V60
  7. Slowly pour the hot water (not boiling) into the Hario V60 and level hot water with the coffee grinds (the extraction will start to occur)
  8. Keep pouring water slowly to ensure the water is just above the coffee grinds, yet does not spill over (swivel the water around the coffee, not just into the middle to ensure all coffee grinds are wet)
  9. Once the V60 is no longer dropping coffee into the carafe, remove the V60 from the carafe
  10. Give the carafe a light swirl and pour the coffee to enjoy
